BRIEF HISTORY
To trace the historical development of an institution of learning renders a deeper thought and insight into the philosophy, objective, curriculum, physical instruction, facilities, and personnel. It brings to the fore its humble beginning toward whatever present statute it has attained.
The Minalabac National High School started from municipal officials' vision to help the municipality in the education of its people. The feasibility study was conducted during the term of the late Municipal Mayor Ricardo Arevalo. The plan of putting-up a new secondary school was realized through the joint effort of the Mayor Raul Nocos, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Congressman Rolando Andaya Sr., and other DECS personnel.
The School offers a Basic Education Curriculum. The first year operation was in June 1996 which was the annex of Hobo High School, offering only first year level and was temporarily housed in three rooms of Minalabac Central School. There were only three sections handled by three permanent teachers namely Mrs. Imelda S. Del Rosario, Mrs. Fe L. Sibulo and Mrs. Gemma Clariño.
In 1997, the four room two-storey Andaya building was built and in the succeeding years, there were 12 classrooms built under the administration of the then Principal, Mrs. Leonora A. Belano. Since then, the numbers of enrollees have grown from 127 to more than 600 that is why sixteen more permanent teachers and six non-teaching personnel were hired until 2002.
During the time of Mr. William D. Basmayor, two teachers were deployed; one of them was assigned in the Division office while the other was then become the Teacher In-charge in Antipolo High School (former MNHS Annex). Another two teachers resigned so three more teachers were hired.
Year 2012 month of May, Dr. Ella D. Mirandilla was appointed as the new Principal of Minalabac National High School. One teacher was then deployed to Villafuerte-Pena High School, Goa, Camarines Sur and last November, another teacher was appointed as the Teacher In-charge of Pinamasagan High School, San Fernando, Camarines Sur. Fortunately, Dr. Mirandilla hired five permanent teachers in 2012 to 2014 respectively.
Last May 2015, Mrs. Edna C. Fernandez was appointed as the new School Head of Minalabac National High School.
